Due to the changes in EU legislation that come into force 5 January 08, anyone involved in the transportation of livestock in connection with an economic activity may need to have a certificate of competence, or face a £5000 fine and/or 6 month custodial sentence. The penalties for not having the correct certificate will not be enforced until the end of April 08.

Lantra Awards are offering 2 assessments to cover the new rules; Short Journeys, a journey over 40 miles and under 8 hours in duration, and Long Journeys, a journey over 8 hours.
